Associate Attorney – Asbestos / Toxic Tort / Product Liability Defense

Pittsburgh, PA | 2+ Years of Litigation Experience

Our recruitment agency is partnering with a nationally recognized litigation firm seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience in asbestos defense, toxic tort litigation, product liability, or general civil defense to join its Pittsburgh office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented litigator to work on complex, high-value defense matters, gain meaningful courtroom and litigation experience, and develop their career alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative, trial-focused environment.

What You’ll Do

As part of the Pittsburgh team, you will manage a diverse defense caseload involving:

\n
• Asbestos and toxic tort litigation
\n
• Product liability matters
\n
• Premises liability and exposure claims
\n
• Other complex and high-value civil litigation
\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions, and other litigation documents.
\n
• Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
\n
• Manage discovery and assist in developing litigation strategy.
\n
• Attend court conferences, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
\n
• Communicate directly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
\n
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed.
\n
• Take ownership of assigned matters while working collaboratively with partners and other attorneys.
\n

This position offers substantial hands-on responsibility, as well as mentorship and guidance from experienced trial lawyers.

What We’re Looking For

\n
• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania is required.
\n
• 2+ years of experience in asbestos defense, toxic tort, product liability, general liability, or related civil litigation.
\n
• Additional admission in Ohio, New York, or West Virginia is highly desirable.
\n
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
\n
• Experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and client communications.
\n
• Ability to manage litigation matters independently while working effectively as part of a team.
\n
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
\n
• Proactive, client-focused, and solution-oriented approach.
\n
